The Southeast Volusia Manufacturing and Technology Coalition (SEVMTC) visited New Smyrna Beach High School to provide presentation to Engineering and Building Trades classes. The presentation from Everglades Boats and Dougherty Manufacturing/Solace Boats, which provided insights into the opportunities available for careers in local manufacturing.
SEVMTC is a non-profit organization that works to promote and support manufacturing and technology in Southeast Volusia County. The coalition partners with local businesses, educational institutions, and the cities of New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, and Oak Hill to provide resources and opportunities for career development, workforce training and economic growth.
During the visit, SEVMTC members and industry experts discussed the importance of STEM education and hands-on learning in preparing students for a career in manufacturing and technology. The presentation covered various topics such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, welding, machining, composites and other aspects of the industry.

The event was part of SEVMTC's ongoing efforts to promote collaboration between industry and education and to foster workforce development in Southeast Volusia County.
