February 29, 2024 9:30 am - 1 pm Daytona State College will host high school students affording them an exciting and unique opportunity to experience the world of high-level and high-tech workforce training.  Students will have the opportunity to learn about academic and career pathways in these high-wage and in-demand occupations and how credits earned can lead to training certificates, stackable credentials, and college degrees.

This week's announcement that Terran Orbital will construct a giant “Industry 4.0” satellite-manufacturing plant on Merritt Island has raised prospects for economic development in southeast Volusia County and beyond. FROM FLORIDA TODAY — Satellite manufacturer Terran Orbital has selected Kennedy Space Center to base its new headquarters, a massive facility it says will become the largest of its kind in the world while generating thousands of jobs for the Space Coast.
Florida’s robust and business-friendly infrastructure makes our state an ideal destination for manufacturing operations. The opening of this facility is the culmination of a strategy that was announced in late January, designed to bring engineering and design functions together to create a world-class center for product and technology development, and design excellence. Joining the Brunswick team and many distinguished leaders in the community were Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Congressman Michael Waltz.
Steelmaster Industries (SMI), whose offices and production facility are located on a 20-acre site in Oak Hill, has a 30-year history of designing and building commercial metal buildings throughout Central Florida. Company leaders attribute much of this success to the fact that 75 percent of its business is with repeat clients.
Porta Products is more than a design and manufacturing firm. It has evolved and serves as an incubator for the marine industry, with developing companies working to gain traction in a competitive industry by operating in the “coworking space” of Porta Products’ 32,000 square foot building in New Smyrna Beach.
